First Year Students (not transfers): Visit the Mustang Success Center (first year advising)
Incoming Transfer Students: Welcome! We are excited for you to join us! You will register for Fall classes on Aug 15th. We will help you prepare at Transfer SLO Days. Please read more about preparing for fall and keep checking your Cal Poly email for detailed and timely information. We are unable to provide personalized advising until AFTER your transfer evaluation is complete, mid July - early Aug. You will get an email when this is completed. While we will prepare you for registration during Transfer SLO Days, some appointments will be available before and after for additional support. Again, keep checking your Cal Poly email for more information. See you soon!

Schedule a Meeting with the CLA Associate Dean for Student Success
CLA Associate Dean for Student Success, Kate Murphy, is also available to meet with students. Dr. Murphy is an advocate for students who typically works with returning students, those in disqualified (DQ) status, and those navigating difficult, complex, or sensitive situations. Drop-in Office Hour with the CLA Dean
Every Thursday beginning 9/23
Starting Sept. 23, Dean Williams will be holding special "Drop-in on the Dean" hours at 10 to 11 a.m. every Thursday, alternating between virtual and in-person sessions.
Sept. 23 will be virtual, Sept. 30 will be in the CLA Dean's Office (Bldg. 47, Room 31), and the following weeks will alternate in that order.
Watch for an email every Thursday morning with more information, including the zoom link for virtual sessions.
Students are also welcome to email Dean Williams any time with questions and concerns directly at pjw@calpoly.edu.

Scholarships Offered by the College of Liberal Arts
The CLA has scholarship opportunities for both incoming students and currently enrolled students. Individual departments also offer scholarships specific to their major(s). See the department websites for more information about department or major-specific scholarships.

Participate in the Student CSU Research Competition
The CSU Student Research Competition promotes excellence in undergraduate and graduate scholarly research and creative activity by recognizing outstanding student accomplishments throughout the 23 campuses of the California State University. Cash prizes are awarded. The CLA can help you prepare your submission.
