Cal Poly will host author Rebecca Walker at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Baker Center (Building 180), Room 114. She will read from her latest novel “Adé: A Love Story” and her memoir “Black, White and Jewish” in a presentation titled “Writing Beyond Boundaries.”

Cal Poly Debate Team Champions of Loyola Invitational on Oct. 26

The Cal Poly Debate Team earned the title of “Champion” at this year’s Loyola Marymount University Invitational Debate Tournament, which took place on Oct. 26. The tournament included nationally and internationally ranked teams. Cal Poly contended for top honors against top-ranked teams from the University of La Verne, UCLA, USC, and the Claremont Colleges. Addressing issues pertaining to international relations, social justice, economics, and philosophy, the Cal Poly team produced arguments and strategies that contributed to their success at the event.

As part of the College of Liberal Arts’ (CLA) Alumni Speaker Series, Cal Poly will host Marquel Sheree Ramirez on Thursday, Nov. 21, 11:10 a.m. to noon in the Warren J. Baker Center for Science and Mathematics, room 114. Ramirez will discuss her professional journey since graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in modern languages and literatures.

Journalism Faculty to Present Paper on Cultural Monuments and Media in Thailand
