Cal Poly Spring 2016 Commencement Ceremonies Set for June 11 and 12

Some 4,200 students are eligible to graduate in three ceremonies at Cal Poly’s spring commencement Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12. Ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday in Spanos Stadium.

The Living Library Exhibit to Close

The Living Library Exhibit on display on the Second Floor of the Robert E. Kennedy Library will be closing on Friday, June 3rd. Be sure to check it out one last time before then!

Social Media and Political Branding: The Case of Narendra Modi

Architecture & Environmental Design Building (No. 5), Room 104

Joyojeet Pal, assistant professor at the University of Michigan’s School of Information, will give his talk on the rise in the importance of social media by political leaders in the Global South. His talk will focus on the case of India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, using a qualitative analysis of his tweets to discuss his specific outreach strategies and how these have evolved over time.

An interdisciplinary team of Cal Poly students shared first place in the 2016 Bank of America Merrill Lynch Low-Income Housing Challenge (LIHC). The team included students from architecture, economics, finance, city and regional planning, and construction management.
