Catalog Recommendations by Major
Starting in Fall 2026, all courses move to semesters. You have two options:
- stay on the 2022-2026 quarter catalog and finish your requirements with equivalent semester courses, or
- switch to the 2026-2028 semester catalog and get credit for the quarter courses you’ve already completed.
Each recommendation below points you to the catalog that helps most, often a lighter course load or better-timed courses. You can follow it or choose the catalog that fits your plan.
If the year you started or student type is not represented below, talk with an advisor about catalog recommendations.

*Catalogs will be automatically updated mid July, 2026. All other students should submit a change of catalog form in July 2026. Watch for emails with more information.

Tips for All Majors
- Check Cal Poly email daily for updates from your major department, CLA Advising Center and Office of the Registrar.
- Take an average of 15 semester units per term to stay on track.
- If you are on track now, you will still be able to graduate on time if you are following the guidance here, checking your email, and meeting regularly with Faculty and CLA Advisors.
