Dean’s Excellence Fund

The Dean’s Excellence Fund supports high-impact learning, faculty innovation and student success initiatives across Cal Poly’s College of Liberal Arts, enabling the college to respond flexibly to emerging opportunities and needs.

Learn by Doing Fund

The Learn by Doing Fund empowers College of Liberal Arts students in each department with hands-on experiences in and outside of the classroom (such as internships, research and community-engaged projects) that bring learning to life.

Give to the LBD Fund

Students in Anthropology professor Terry L. Jones’ ANT 310-Archaelogical Field School class and a few volunteers work at a site once occupied by Japanese tenant farmers near Diablo Canyon Power Plant. The site was abandoned when the family was taken to an internment camp during WWII.

Industry and Innovation Fund

The Industry and Innovation Fund advances forward-looking teaching, research and industry engagement by supporting faculty initiatives and student opportunities in areas such as artificial intelligence, innovation, entrepreneurship, internships, industry visits and conference participation.

SURP is an opportunity for students to work closely (often one-on-one) with faculty on cutting-edge research. Students develop advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills, learning how to gather information, analyze evidence and and enhance their communication skills.
