Religion Behind the Curtain of the Hermit Kingdom

The Cal Poly Religious Studies Club is hosting a talk titled “Religion Behind the Curtain of the Hermit Kingdom” that will provide insight on North Korea’s people, culture and the effect of the state-mandated Juche religion/ideology has on the populace. Juche is usually translated as “self-reliance” and has often been connected with the personality cult of the Kim family, who are presented as savior figures. This event is free and open to the public.
