Cal Poly’s Polyrhythmics to Perform on Campus May 17
Polyrhythmics, Cal Poly’s percussion ensemble, will give its annual concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the Performing Arts Center Pavilion.
This year’s concert will feature the masterpiece “Ionisation” by Edgard Varese — a hallmark of percussion literature that features 13 players. Also on the program will be “The Gilded Cage” by Susan Powell, “October Mountain” by mystic-composer Alan Hovhaness, a Bach fugue arranged for marimba quartet, and much more.
The free recital is sponsored by Cal Poly’s College of Liberal Arts and Music Department. For more information, call the Music Department at 805-756-2406.
