Pianist W. Terrence Spiller to Perform Jan. 9 Benefit Recital at Cal Poly

Pianist W. Terrence Spiller, Cal Poly Music Department chair, will give a benefit recital at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, in the Spanos Theatre on campus.

Spiller’s program will start with Franz Joseph Haydn’s Variations in F minor, followed by Claude Debussy’s “Suite Bergamasque,” and concluding with Isaac Albéniz’s “Triana” from “Iberia,” Book II.

The second half of the program will feature Frédéric Chopin’s monumental “Preludes,” Op. 28.

Tickets are $9 for students and senior citizens and $12 for the public. Proceeds will benefit the Cal Poly Music Department Scholarship Fund.

Pricing includes all Performing Arts Center fees, and event parking is sponsored by the PAC. Tickets are sold at the Performing Arts Ticket office between noon and 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. To order by phone, call SLO-4TIX (756-4849).

The Music Department offers a 10 percent discount to patrons who buy season tickets to four of its events through the Performing Arts Ticket Office; a 15 percent discount is given on tickets to five or more events.
