Cal Poly's ‘Take It SLO’ To Perform Twice June 1

Take It SLO, Cal Poly’s a cappella ensemble, will present its spring concert and album release event at 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday, June 1, in Room 218 of the Davidson Music Center on campus.

The 16-member student ensemble will sing popular songs arranged by the students, including selections from the group’s newest CD, “SLO Motion,” to be released to the public at the concerts. It will be available for purchase for $5.

Take It SLO has received statewide recognition over the past few years and competed in the International Championship of College A Cappella West Coast Quarterfinals for several years. More recently, the ensemble garnered media attention when its members were invited to perform with Jason Mraz on March 19 in the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly.

The group’s members are students from a variety of majors, including business, microbiology and engineering.

Admission at the door will be $7 for the public and $5 for students. The Take It SLO concerts are sponsored by the Cal Poly Music Department, College of Liberal Arts, and Instructionally Related Activities program.
