Annual Juried Student Exhibition Opens at Cal Poly University Art Gallery April 10
Cal Poly’s University Art Gallery will kick off an exhibit of work by students in the Art & Design Department with a reception at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 10. The exhibit will run through May 15.
Guest jurists Steve Miller of Steve Miller Images and Jon Peterson of On a Limb Design selected 83 pieces from 133 entries for the show. The final selection represents the best of the Art & Design Department’s programs and includes a variety of media and genres such as graphic design, photography, drawing, painting, sculpture and digital media.
“The quality of the work submitted was exceptionally high this year, said University Art Gallery Coordinator Jeff VanKleeck. “The jurors had a hard time narrowing the field down to an amount that would fit in the gallery. In fact, the show is larger this year because they just could not edit more out.”
The University Art Gallery is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free. The gallery is located on the Cal Poly campus on the ground floor of the Dexter Art Building (No. 34).
