In the production, banishment turns to delight as leading characters Rosalind and Orlando discover a joyous world of comedic wonder within the ancient boughs of the magical, liberating forest,” said Professor Josh Machamer, who adapted and directs the production. “Shakespeare’s beloved comedy showcases the madness of love, the celebration of wooing, and the unexpected freedom found within Arden’s trees.”
“As You Like It” will also feature the work of Theatre & Dance Department faculty and staff members Thomas J. Bernard (costumes), Clint Bryson (technical direction), Kathy Dugan (costume shop supervision), Tim Dugan (sets and lights), and Philip Valle (original musical composition).
In addition, more than 40 students from across all disciplines are involved both onstage and backstage.
Tickets are $20 for the public and $12 for students, seniors and children. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office between noon and 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. To order by phone, call SLO-4TIX (805-756-4849).
The performance is sponsored by Cal Poly’s Theatre & Dance Department, College of Liberal Arts, and Instructionally Related Activities program.
