Learn by Doing Scholar Award Application Period Closes Today, March 21

This faculty award celebrates the scholarship or teaching and learning by honoring outstanding contributions to Learn by Doing. The award recognizes both a published work and a work in progress with prizes of $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. The recipients are selected by a committee of tenured faculty representing every college. Tenure-track and non-tenure-track may apply. For more information, visit the Kennedy Library Website.

Provost’s Leadership Award for Partnership in Philanthropy

This award was created in 2006 to recognize a current or former faculty member’s superior achievement in fundraising. Faculty, staff, and current students are encouraged to submit nominations to Jeanne Scott, no later than Friday, April 1, 2016.

TAO – ‘Seventeen Samurai’ (Cal Poly Arts)

7:30 p.m. Monday, March 21
Cohan Center (Bldg. 6)

TAO combines Taiko drums with innovative choreography to deliver the traditional art of Japanese drumming to modern audiences. TAO has sold-out hundreds of performances and has played to more than 6 million people. There will be a free preshow lecture at 6:30 in the PAC.

Kahulanui (Cal Poly Arts)

Spanos Theatre (Bldg. 44)

Grammy-nominated nine-piece band, Kahulanui, combines traditional Hawaiian music with Big Bang Swing to create a dynamic musical performance that is an American sensation.
