2016 Panetta Institute Congressional Internship Program 

Applications are now being accepted for the 2016 Panetta Institute Congressional Internship Program. Now in its 18th year, this prestigious program is designed to encourage and develop future leaders as well as prepare individuals for greater civic involvement. This experience is open to qualified students from ANY major who have an interest in Congress, civil leadership or public service. Click here for complete program requirements and details. The application deadline is Thursday, Feb. 4.

Nominations Sought for Outstanding Staff Award 

Staff employees, faculty members, and department or division heads are encouraged to submit nominations for the Outstanding Staff Employee award. The deadline to submit a nomination for the 2015-16 award is Friday, Feb. 5. The Outstanding Staff selection criteria and nomination form can be found on the Administration & Finance website.​
 

Nominations Sought for Outstanding Student Employee Award 

Faculty and staff members can show their appreciation for student employees by nominating them for the university's 2015-16 Outstanding Student Employee of the Year (OSEY) award. Cal Poly’s OSEY will be announced in April. The winner is entered into the state competition and could go on to the regional and national competitions. The nomination form can be found on the Administration & Finance website. Submissions are due to Barbara Rollins in Financial Aid by Friday, Feb. 5.

Winter Quarter German Conversation Table starts Jan. 20

Practice your German from 12:10-1 p.m. every other Wednesday starting Jan. 20 in Julian’s Café at Kennedy Library. Subsequent dates are Feb. 3, Feb. 17 and March 2. For more information contact Angelica Browne.
 

Spanish Conversation Table meets on Thursdays

Spanish Table meets on Thursdays, UU Hour (11 a.m. – 12 p.m.) at the tables in front of The Avenue. All are welcome to come and practice Spanish. For more information contact Marion Hart or Brittany Anderson-Cain.

'100% Acrylic' in Art Gallery

Jan. 14 – Feb. 5
University Art Gallery, Dexter Building (No. 34) 

Cal Poly’s Art and Design Department will present “100% Acrylic,” an exhibit featuring the work of painter and installation artist Erin Curtis. The show will open Thursday, Jan. 14, in the University Art Gallery in the Dexter Building (No. 34). The evening will start with a talk by Curtis at 5:10 p.m. in the KTGY Gallery in the Engineering West Building (No. 21) Room 105, across Dexter Lawn. A reception will follow at 6 p.m. in the University Art Gallery.​
