Cal Poly Music Department Announces 2015-16 Events

The Cal Poly Music Department is kicking off its 2015-16 season with a free faculty vocal recital by music professor and lyric soprano Meredith Brammeier at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, in the Spanos Theatre on campus.

Pianist Susan Azaret Davies will accompany Brammeier. The recital is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.
 
Additional fall events, including several free ones, are scheduled for:

  • Nov. 22 – Symphony Fall Concert
  • Dec. 4 – Fall Jazz Concert
  • Dec. 5 – Choirs’ “A Christmas Celebration”
  • Dec. 6 – Bandfest 2015!

For performances in the Davidson Music Center, Cal Poly enforces parking regulations Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. During those times, visitors can pay to park in metered zones or purchase general parking permits for use in general parking areas only. The Grand Avenue parking structure is recommended. Beginning fall quarter, parking spaces in the lot south of the Performing Arts Center will no longer be available because of construction.
 
Tickets for Music Department events are on sale at the Cal Poly Ticket Office between noon and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To order by phone, call SLO-4TIX (756-4849).
 
Patrons receive a 10 percent when buying season tickets to four Music Department events through the Performing Arts Ticket Office; a 15 percent discount is offered on tickets to five or more events.
 
All events are sponsored by Cal Poly’s Music Department and the College of Liberal Arts. Several are also sponsored by the Instructionally Related Activities program.
