USMA PHOTOS

I took this photo in 1996 near the General Patton statue. He's standing facing the Library. It's said that he boasted about having graduated from West Point without ever having cracked a book in the Library. Patton notwithstanding, I found the cadets at West Point excellent students. For the most part they read all of the books I assigned them. If Patton did as well as he did (he did) without having read a book, imagine how well West Point graduates do having read books!

This photo was taken at the end of the first semester at West Point during the academic year 1995-1996. These cadets had just finished the final examination in a course on the culture of Spain.
