MY FELLOW BAVARIANS

Since 1871, our Bavaria has been part of a united Germany that is dominated by Prussia. We were told that a uniting of the German people would benefit not only we Bavarians, but all the German people.

What benefits have we Bavarians reaped from this union?

In 1918 we received these blessings from Berlin:

• The German Fleet mutinied in Kiel.
• Revolution in Bavaria.
• Berlin signed the Armistice with the enemy.
• Emperor Wilhelm II fled to the Netherlands.

In 1919 we continued to receive more blessings from Berlin:

• The Spartacus revolt in Berlin.
• Kurt Eisner, our Premier, was assassinated.
• The Communists attempted to establish a Soviet Republic in Bavaria, but we Bavarians crushed them.
• The German Fleet was scuttled by the enemy.
• Berlin signed the Treaty of Versailles with the enemy.

How many more blessings and benefits can we afford to receive from Berlin? There are some Bavarians who speak of us once again becoming an independent Bavaria. There are also Bavarians who speak of returning King Ludwig to his rightful place as our King.

Before there was a Germany, there was a Bavaria. We must not let the Prussians, ruling from Berlin, destroy our Bavaria while they destroy Germany.

When the time arrives, Bavarians must do what is best for Bavaria.
