Research Study: #201-09: Stress and Distress in the College Students

For my senior project I will be examining stress and distress variables in the college-aged individual. Participants will be asked to complete two questionnaires computing stress and distress levels. The participants will also be asked to complete a short recall task. Participation will take about 20 minutes.

There are currently no available sessions for this study.

Research Study: #202-09: Identity and Well-Being

We are conducting a research project on identity and well-being. We hope this research can help college campuses gain valuable information about how people can best cope with events in their daily lives. In this study you will be presented with a series of questionnaires asking about your own thoughts, experiences, and perspectives.

Research Study: #203-09: Who Will Win? How Much Does It Weigh?

This experiment has two parts: in the first part we will show you pictures of two sports teams and have you predict the winner. In the second part, we will ask you to get in a particular mood, and then estimate the weight of various objects.

Research Study: #204-09: Outcomes of Using Strength Focused Positive Reappraisal

Take advantage of this opportunity to change your perspective on life! How do you feel about your current outlook on life's events? Is the world more negative than you'd like it to be? Would you like to find the positive aspects of your experiences? This research project is an opportunity for you to practice finding positive perspectives from which to view your experiences. You may also gain insight into various personal strengths you possess. The time commitment for this study totals approximately two hours. Our first meeting will last about 50 minutes. After this initial meeting, you will record whether or not you used the skills learned every day for the next three weeks (about two minutes per day). At the eend of the three weeks we will meet again to turn in your records and complete surveys (writing prompts will be distributed at this time), this should take approximately 15 minutes. Finally, in November I will email surveys to you to complete, this should taken another 15 minutes. FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED AT OUR FIRST MEETING, SO COME HUNGRY!

There are currently no available sessions for this study.
