PSY 429 Experimental Psychology

Experimental Dilemma # 1

A scientist theorizes that people who have blue eyes are more intelligent than people with brown eyes. In order to test the theory the scientist obtains a variety of intelligence measures for 30 blue and 30 brown eyed subjects. These measures include grade point average, scores on the WAIS test, and SAT scores. A comparison of measures between groups shows that the blue eyed subjects score higher on all tests than the brown eyed subjects. The scientist states that "the data prove that people with blue eyes are more intelligent than those with brown eyes."

Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why?
