| Service A grant writer, Kevin has long been associated with Cal Poly's WriterSpeak program, helping to bring visiting and local writers to campus for readings and discussion. In 1995 he was elected to the university's Athletic Governing Board. Presently he serves as a member of the Cal Poly Arts board. He sometimes serves on the English Department's Executive, Creative Writing, Appointments, and Core Course committees. Kevin organizes the annual Creative Writing Contest Awards Reading and directs publication of the department's literary magazine Byzantium. He also directs the Academy of American Poets contest at Cal Poly. In previous years he has chaired the curriculum and promotion standards committees. On the college and department levels, Kevin has worked to minimize the deleterious effects of the CSU merit system. And locally he has long served as a coach in both little league and girls basketball. |
