To apply, obtain an application form by either downloading one from this page and printing it, or retrieving one from the English Department Office, 47-32. Fill it out and ask a staffperson to put it in Dr. Rubba’s mailbox. I will sign it, and it will go in your file if you are an English major. If you are not an English major, you should pick up the application from me (allow one week for me to sign it) and take it to your major department office. To find out when I am available to give you your signed application, go to my schedule on my home page.

Take the required courses. It is best to take ENGL 290 first, since this gives you basics that will be helpful for the other courses. A C grade is needed in a course for the course to count towards the minor. As long as you take at least 2/3 of the required courses and pass them with a C or better, you needn’t do anything more – Evaluations will know that you have taken the minor and will check for its completion and mark it on your transcript. All the same, it is a good idea for you to check with Evaluations early in your graduation year to be sure that they know you are taking the minr. If you find that they do not, just fill in an application again and they will be notified. If this happens, ask Evaluations how long it will take for them to enter the minor on your transcript.
