Course Description: World Englishes considers past, present, and future varieties of the English languages. Attention will be paid to the spread of English and its diverse use in various communities. Along with examining features of World Englishes, we will also consider related issues in language policy and planning. In-class activities and reading assignments will be supplemented by accessing websites in linguistics. Students will be required to used the computer to participate in online activities.
