Feminist refers to those who argue against patriarchal domination, for equal rights and a just and fair distribution of scarce goods and resources.
Liberal feminism = finds the roots of women’s oppression in cultural constraints that hinder women from competing in the public world.
Marxist feminism = oppression originates with private property in a class society. Capital is the oppressor
Radical feminists = patriarchy characterized by power, dominance, hierarchy and competition must be eliminated. Men are the oppressors limiting women to their reproductive roles.
Psychoanalytic feminism seeks explanations for the differences between male and female sexuality in infant and childhood experiences and promote dual parenting as well as dual careers for heterosexual couples.
Socialist feminists = combine some of the above: four structures determine woman’s condition: production, reproduction, sexuality and socialization of children. Women must be convinced of their own value.
