You will have two main text fors this course. It will  be expected that the material will be read before being covered in class.  This course requires that you be prepared to understand the lecture.  Lecture does not substitute for reading the texts.  Without reading the texts, the lecture will be difficult to follow so come prepared.  The additional readings cover material not found in the text.  The two texts chosen have different approaches in presenting the material and both provide a richer understanding than just one.
