Questions Soc 421
There are three questions listed below that will be discussion topics
for this course. You will discuss these in class with your
classmates.
The assignment is worth 15 points, 5 points for each question. Two
points will be given for attending the discussion and 3 points for the
brief paper (1-2 pages, typed, single spaced) you will write to answer
the question, depending on how well it is written and how carefully it
is thought out. The paper will be due the class after the discussion.
Late
papers will not be accepted.

3. What role does symbolic
meaning play in understanding how
humans define their world?
There will be no essay questions on the exams so do the best you can on
your essay here.
As we are studying theorists, it is important to include their
perspectives in your answer. It is not
a personal opinion essay.
