   GOALS:  This course will explore the importance of social theories for understanding the present social arrangements and problems.  It will cover major concepts and theories in the social sciences and paradigms in the sociology of knowledge.  The course will focus on modern and classical perspectives.  Students will learn the major theorists in the field and their contributions to the understanding of human behavior.
