Films:

"W.E.B. Dubois"
    This film is a biography of the first black American to gain a Ph'd. from Harvard in the field of sociology.  He was a major contributor to the debates around the role of blacks in American society.

Tannen: "He Said, She Said"
    This film discusses the different ways in which men and women are taught to communicate.

This quarter "fighting Back" episode 2 was shown instead. It deals with the intgration of schools.  ("Ain't Scared of Your Jails"

    This film shows important events in the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement.)

"Violence Against Women"
    This film shows interviews of men and women who have been either the victims or perpetrators of violence against women.

"China's Only Child"
    This film discusses China's approach to population control.

"Eye of the Storm"
    This film presents an experiement conducted by one elemetary school teacher to teach the concepts of discrimination and prejudice to her students.

Select one of these films for the revue you will write to meet the paper requirement for the course.  The films will be shown in class and then will be available on the second floor of the library if you wish to view it again.
