WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT

Select a book which discusses any area of Buddhist, Taoist or Confucian Philosophy. Write a book review of three to five typewritten single-spaced pages. See the bibliography at the back of your texts for other books you might like to read or consult the lists provided below. Do not use one of your texts (required reading) to fufill this assignment.  Title your paper with the bibliographic listing of your book (for example):

Wriggins, S., 1996, Xuanzhang: A Buddhist Pilgrim on the Silk Road, Boulder, CO:Westview Press, .

Your review should include a summary of the main points of the book, a discussion of the organization and presentation of the material, a brief biography of the author and why he/she wrote the book, strengths and weakness of the book from your point of view and include a summary of any professional reviews of the book that you were able to find.
