Students in the class will have the option of participating in a presentation or doing a web page analysis assignment. There will only be 16 slots available for the presentations, eight for each topic. During the first week of class, we will select two topics from the Stand! Race and Ethnicity reader and you will have an opportunity to sign up for one of the topics. One presentation will be held before the midterm and based on the selections for that part of the course and the second will be held after the midterm and based on the selections for that section of the course. Students in the class will be expected to participate in the discussion of the topic as well as the presenters. After each group has presented, the floor will be open for questions and comments. Besides preparing and giving your perspective on the topic, each presenter will fill out a "Frame the Debate" review for each article in that section (see the back of Stand! Race and Ethnicity for the form). If there isn't enough space for you to just fill it, copy the questions and answer them as thoroughly as you can. This will count for half of the grade and your presentation will account for half. Prepare and outline of the points you will discuss in your presentation. You must turn in the outline and the Frame the Debate to me in class before you speak. The outline and your oral presentation are the other half of the grade. 10 points for the whole assignment. .
