GRADING: There will be 3 exams, one written paper (one one of the films shown in class) and discussion topic. The exams will be based upon the text, films and lectures. Your letter grade will be based on a point accumulation.  There will be several discussion sessions in class.  Your participation in the discussion will be graded and you will get up to 10 points depending upon your attendance and contribution. One point will be for participation and one point will be for a short response paper to the 5 different topics selected by the class from the list found on the discussion page. All work turned in will be typed. No hand written work will be accepted.

You will receive your grade based on the following point spread:

    90-100   A
    80-89     B
    70-79     C
    60-69     D
below 60    F

+ and – will be added to the grade depending on attendance and class participation.  

Turn late papers in to the office secretary who will put them in my mail box.  DO NOT SLIP THEM UNDER THE DOOR.  They are very likely to get lost or damaged that way. No work will be accepted for a grade after the last day of class.

No grades will be given out over the telephone or by email.
