HealthThe Cal Poly Cat Program has been fortunate to have received help and support from a great number of contributors. In the beginning, the program relied heavily upon our campus veterinarians and the help of student assistants to examine, test, medicate, spay/neuter and vaccinate all cats. With growing support for our program, numerous local veterinarians have donated their services on a regular basis to help provide for a comprehensive health program (please see our thank you! list.) Through the help of these veterinarians, cats are more quickly treated or put through surgery.
| At least one veterinarian comes to the Cal Poly clinic to spay/neuter and vaccinate cats on a regular basis. The advantage of this is that it allows for the cats to be treated with minimal handling, in a more timely manner, and with less stress placed on the animal overall. Additionally, we are able to provide the veterinarian with the program's own equipment and supplies and even help from Cal Poly pre-veterinary students. Overall, the situation works well for everyone involved. | ![]() |
