HUM S310: (Post-) Apartheid South Africa

CHOICE ONE
Sparked by your interested in apartheid and post-apartheid South Africa, you will be spending a year abroad in the California State University’s South Africa program and hope to land a paid internship while you are there. You have just been notified that you are a semi-finalist for internships at:
the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation;
Zibone Tours; and
Each internship coordinator has been impressed by your qualifications, knows that you are currently enrolled in HUM S310, and hopes to see you emerge as a finalist. But at this stage, your candidacy can only be considered by one organization. The next step is to explain to one of the internship coordinators in an essay of a minimum of five double-spaced pages how two or more works (texts or videos) that you have studied so far in the course might help tourists to South Africa better understand what it was like to live in the country under apartheid.
You should assume that you will be judged at a minimum for the effectiveness of your writing and for your ability to analyze, criticize, and synthesize material. You should also use MLA format.
CHOICE TWO
In an essay of a minimum of five double-spaced pages, explain how two or more works (texts or videos) that you have studied so far in the course might help one better understand what it was like to live in South Africa under apartheid.
