Many employers consider communication skills to be critical to the success of their organizations. The Technical Communication Certificate Program provides students with the necessary tools to develop those skills. All students in the program, under the guidance of the program director, engage in work-related internships. With a closely supervised work experience program, each student is given the opportunity to work individually with the program director, Professor Jim Howland. Further networking is encouraged through membership in the Society for Technical Communication (STC), the organization for professionals in the field. To achieve their professional certification, all students enrolled in the Technical Communication Certificate Program are required to initiate membership with the STC.
