My primary area of teaching and research interest is political theory--the study of theories about the best form(s) of government. I also teach and write about issues in public law. I received a PhD. in Political Science from the Johns Hopkins University in 2004. I have been teaching at Cal Poly since 2006.
Classes I offer include POLS 230, POLS 330, and POLS 345. I also plan to teach a practicum class for students involved in Mock Trial, starting in Fall 2007. Other classes in political theory and law are in the planning stage, and should be available in the future.
My recent publications include "Exploring Affect and Politics" (Political Theory), "The Politics of Wittgenstein" (Polity), and "Revisiting Constitutional Interpretation: A Comparative Perspective on the American Debates" (Studies in Law, Politics, and Society). I am currently at work on a book about value pluralism and politics.
