Six CLA alumni are honored in the Tribune’s 20 under 40 for 2013

Six CLA alumni are among those honored in the Tribune’s 20 under 40 for 2013.

Megan Rivoire (ART ’08) is an account coordinator at Verdin marketing agency in San Luis Obispo. She also serves as vice president for the SARP Center, focusing on her passion of “ending sexual violence against all people.” Rivoire was the 2010 AmeriCorps Member of the Year. 

Erin (Newman) Wighton (HIST ’06 and ’11) and Jeff Aranguena (’11) are both graduates of the History Masters’ Program; Wighton is the chief administrative officer for the History Center of San Luis Obispo County, and Aranguena teaches social science at Pacific Beach High School.  

David Wilson graduated as a History major in 1997. Wilson is a loan officer with the Bank of Commerce Mortgage, San Luis branch. He also serves community non-profits and in the past has taught social studies and coached sports at local high schools. 

Daniel Podesto (POLS ’02) is the co-owner and chief financial officer at Central Coast Lending. A Leadership SLO graduate, Podesto serves local non-profits. He also hosted “Mortage Matters” on KVEC Radio to help the community answer questions about the government recovery programs within the housing market. 

Another Political Science graduate Simon Lowrie (2005) is a legal clerk for the San Luis Obispo Office of County Counsel. He has a passion for volunteer work and calls community service “an opportunity for connection, for inspiration, for personal development and self-discovery.”
