Requests to Change Majors
Date:
November 1, 2002
The History Department does not admit transfers
on a "provisional" basis.
New internal transfers will be admitted only when
the following criteria are met:
-
You have a Cal Poly CUM GPA of at least 2.8 and
are not currently on Academic Probation.
-
You have completed at least three
Cal Poly History courses with a grade of "B" or
higher. (At least one class must be upper division.)
-
You have completed at least one quarter at Cal Poly.
-
You have completed a Change of Major form (which is available
from the Records Office) and had it signed by the department
in which you are currently enrolled.
-
You have written a paragraph or two about yourself, stating
your reasons for wanting to become a History major.
-
You have personally met with the Department Chair.
The History major is "impacted," which
means the department must turn away eligible applicants
from other institutions or schools. Consequently, we have
high standards for students wanting to transfer to History. |
