Alfred Landwehr Creative Writing Contest

CONTEST RULES:
- A contestant must be officially enrolled during Winter quarter 2012 at Cal Poly: SLO.
- A contestant may not submit an entry that won a cash prize or an honorable mention in an earlier Cal Poly creative writing contest.
- All fiction manuscripts must be typed and double-spaced.
- All poetry manuscripts must be typed.
- All fiction and poetry entries must be submitted separately.
- All contestants must use a pseudonym on all entries. Attach an envelope with your real name, address, phone number, and email address inside so we can contact you if your entry is chosen as one of the winners. Seal the envelope. Write your pseudonym on your entries and on the outside of the envelope, and staple the envelope to your entries. Use only one pseudonym for all your entries.
- A poetry contestant is limited to five (5) poems, totaling no more than three-hundred (300) lines.
- A short story contestant is limited to two (2), totaling no more than thirty (30) pages.
- Submissions will not be returned. Contestants are advised to keep a copy.
- All entries must be delivered to the English Department (building 47, room 32E) by Noon on Friday, February 10, 2012.
- Selected winning manuscripts will be printed in Byzantium, Cal Poly’s literary magazine.
- Failure to follow the rules may result in disqualification.
Entering this contest constitutes agreement that you will allow publication of your work and you will participate in a reading to be held in spring.
