English Alumnus Melinda Moustakis wins Short Fiction Award

Cal Poly English alumnus and author, Melinda Moustakis of Kalamazoo, MI, was recently awarded this year’s Flannery O'Connor Short Fiction Award for her collection "Bear Down, Bear North." Moustakis, a 2004 graduate of Cal Poly, received her MFA from UC Davis and her PhD in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University.

The short story collections will be published by the University of Georgia Press and should be available next fall.
