The
Center for Practical Politics
The Center for Practical Politics is a non-partisan,
tax-exempt, non-profit entity of the Political Science
Department at Cal Poly State University in San Luis
Obispo. It functions as a vehicle for students and faculty
to cooperatively engage in political, governmental,
and public policy research.
Psychology
and Child Development
The department has a fund with $1500 a year to support
student research activities including travel expenses
for presenting papers at conferences. We also have a
second fund of $1500 to support community service activities.
Students may apply for awards between $75 and $350

Annual Student Research Competition
The California State University Student Research Competition,
initiated in 1985, features research achievements of
undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent
alumni from all academic disciplines. Approximately
200 students from the 22 CSU campuses submit written
papers and make oral presentations before juries of
professional experts from major corporations, foundations,
public agencies, and universities in California. Cash
prizes are awarded.
