Each year
the College of Liberal Arts elects three outstanding faculty
and presents them with a $750 professional development grant.
The three categories are:
- Outstanding Teaching Award
- Outstanding Scholarship or Creative
Activity Award
- Outstanding Service Award
Eligibility: All members of our faculty
are eligible to nominate peers. Everyone who is employed
at least half time in a teaching position in the college
is eligible for consideration, but our intention is to
recognize clear cases of excellence.
Procedure: To nominate a faculty member
you will need to submit the
following items:
- A letter of nomination, 1000 words
or less. There are no defined criteria, so just write
an accurate and informative case for your nominee.
- One copy of abbreviated curriculum
vita of nominee.
Deadline: April 25, 2008.
Selection: The CLA College Council,
made up of chairs and program directors, will screen nominees
and compile a list of finalists. Winners will be announced
before commencement and awards handed out at the end of
year reception in June.

award winners here.
