German, Russian & Vietnamese Conversation Tables Open

German, Russian and Vietnamese conversation tables are open to anyone who would like to learn a language, hear one spoken, or talk about relevant topics like culture, customs, food or history. Three conversation tables will meet regularly during spring quarter in Kennedy Library (Building 35).

Rooms and times as follows:

— German Table: 12:10-1 p.m. at Julian’s Café; April 27, May 11 and 25.

— Russian Table: 12:10-1 p.m. at Julian’s Café; April 20, May 4 and 18, and June 1.

— Vietnamese Table: 11:15 a.m. to noon in a faculty fishbowl, Room 220A; Thursday, April 21, May 5 and 19, and June 2.

Student Artwork Exhibit

University Art Gallery, Dexter Building (No. 34)

The 2016 Annual Juried Student Exhibition, featuring photography, video, painting, drawing, graphic design and sculpture fills the gallery space as the department showcases the diverse creative abilities of students. The University Art Gallery is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Sculptor Mario Chiodo to Present ‘Finding Our Humanity, Everyday’

Famed Napa Valley sculptor Mario Chiodo will present his TedX Napa Valley talk “An Evening with Sculptor Mario Chiodo: Finding Our Humanity, Everyday.” The talk will discuss art and its relevance to our connectedness as a diverse society. Chiodo’s work immortalizes world-changing cultural figures or events as a way to remember what was accomplished through their work.

‘Menopause the Musical’: The Survivor Tour (Cal Poly Arts)

7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19

Cohan Center (Bldg. 6)

Four women meet at a lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra and issues with growing older. This hilarious jukebox musical parody has brought joy to millions worldwide. The entire cast is made up of breast cancer survivors and a portion of ticket sales will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Come support the cause! Learn more here.
