Welcome to Between the Species
Between the Species is an electronic journal devoted to the philosophical examination of the relationship between human beings and other animals. While most articles are ethical inquiries, others raise issues involving metaphysics, epistemology and other areas of philosophical investigation.
Those interested in the interdisciplinary scholarly investigation of questions about ethics and animals should look into the new Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics established by Andrew Linzey. This international organization is hosting conferences, leading to the publication of The Link Between Animal Abuse and Human Violence, which Linzey edited. There’s a forthcoming journal as well.
