English Department - College Based Fees - Plan 2022-23

Seats are saved in the following classes for English majors, using College Based Fees. Seats are saved in fall, winter and spring if the courses are offered.  

 CBF course offerings for the year:

  • ENGL 145: Reasoning, Argumentation, and Writing (save 2-3 seats/section across min. 8 sections)
  • ENGL 251: Great Books I: Introduction to Classical Literature (save 3-5 seats/sec; approx. 18 seats)
  • ENGL 387: Fiction Writing (save 4-6 seats/section; approx. 8-12 seats)
  • ENGL 388: Poetry Writing (save 4-6 seats/section; approx. 8-12 seats)

 

        USCP

  • ENGL 345: Women Writers of the Twentieth Century (save 3 seats per section anytime offered)
  • ENGL 346: Ethnic American Literature (save 3 seats per section anytime offered)
  • ENGL 347: African American Literature (save 3 seats per section anytime offered)
  • ENGL 349: Gender in Twentieth and Twenty-First Century Literature (save 3 seats per section anytime offered)
  • ENGL 381: Diversity in Twentieth-Century American Literature (save 3 seats per section anytime offered)
  • ENGL 382: LGBT Literature and Media (save 3 seats per section anytime offered)

 

The English Department CBF committee consists of all English majors, and is currently advised by Dr. Brenda Helmbrecht, English Department Associate Chair.
