Letters of Recommendation - Alyson McLamore
|
Requests from Dr. McLamore
Since your goal, presumably, is to obtain the strongest letter of support possible, there are several things that I ask you to contribute to the process:
~ Home ~ Classes Taught ~1) a copy of your resume
2) a copy of your transcript (unofficial is fine)
3) a copy of your statement of purpose
4) a copy of all forms, with your portion completely filled out ("waiving" your right to review the letter is not required but strongly recommended) NOTE: many schools are moving to electronic recommendations; double-check the admissions website to see what the school's practice is (Music Departments do not always mention this detail!)
5) a typed-out "list" for me - organized by due date (earliest deadline at the top), containing the following information for each school:
a) the deadline
b) full address information for the school
c) the name of the degree to which you're applying (MA in historical performance; MM in vocal performance; MFA in operatic performance; etc., etc.)
d) if the school does not use a form, please make a brief note of any guidance they give reviewers
e) indicate whether the letter of recommendation is to be returned to you or mailed directly to the campus
6) please give me AT LEAST ONE MONTH'S NOTICE - thank you.
